FINANCIAL YEAR 2021/2022
The Municipal Infrastructure Support Agent (MISA) is a governmental component of Annex 3 of the Department of Cooperative Governance (DCoG) established in terms of Section 7 (5) of the Public Service Act of 1994 (as amended), with the mandate to provide Support and develop the technical capacity of municipalities to improve their capacity to carry out efficient planning, execution, operations and maintenance of municipal infrastructure. MISA hereby offers learning and experiential learning opportunities, in financial year 2021/22, that aim to facilitate training and job exposure for apprentices and experiential apprentices. The selected candidates will be located in the identified municipalities; check the details of the participating municipalities on the MISA / COGTA websites.
MASS LEARNING PROGRAM (REF N0: APP INTERN 01/2021)
The Apprenticeship Program is a three-year Apprenticeship Program whose objective is to facilitate the training of successful students to become Artisans. While the program is not exclusively limited to people from previously disadvantaged communities, MISA encourages historically disadvantaged people to apply. The MISA Apprenticeship Program is a structured apprenticeship targeting youth from FET and various accredited training institutions, possessing relevant qualifications for the advertised trades. Successful candidates will be required to receive on-the-job and off-the-job training on the way to qualifying as Artisans. Recruitment is aimed at a cohort that will begin in fiscal year 2021/2022, in particular Students who are from the identified municipal areas. The list of municipal areas is as per the announcement and is available on the MISA / COGTA website. Successful candidates will enter into three-year apprenticeship contracts as determined by the requirements of the specific trades. Students will sign a contract with MISA and will be assigned to the identified municipalities during the learning period.

EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING PROGRAM
GRADUATES IN TECHNICAL FIELDS (REF N0: EL INTERN 02 / 2021a)
MISA offers 2-year internship opportunities to graduates in technical fields that are relevant to the operations and maintenance of municipal infrastructure. While the program is not exclusively limited to individuals from previously disadvantaged communities, MISA strives for excellence in the context of addressing delays in service delivery and skills development and encourages historically disadvantaged individuals to apply. The MISA Experiential Learning Program is a work-based internship program for unemployed graduates from colleges, universities of technology and TVET.
WORK-INTEGRATED LEARNING (REF N0: EL INTERN 02 / 2021b)
This program also offers opportunities to students who require between 12 and 24 months of practical work experience (or work-integrated learning) to complete their study programs, in accordance with academic requirements in the fields of Civil and Electrical Engineering.
Applicants must be willing and available for placement, including rotation and relocation to other municipalities or private sector organizations for adequate job exposure. Please note that MISA does not guarantee any post-qualification employment opportunities.

Certified copies of relevant qualifications;
Certified copy of the South African identity document; and
Proof of residential address.
