To provide a maintenance service and support to the Injection Moulding/Assembly facility to ensure the daily operations of this department to achieve the targets of safety, quality, on time delivery, cost and morale as set out by the company.
The Moulding Technician will be responsible for the following:
• Provide input and support to ensure all preventative, predictive, breakdown maintenance in moulding and assembly machinery and equipment for both electrical and mechanical disciplines
• Optimise all tools and equipment to ensure sustained quality in the production process, control documents should be kept to trace maintenance aspects
• Support and provide input to TPM (Total Productive Maintenance)
• Actively participate in the preparation and submission of all Injection Moulding/Assembly proposals for Previous experience in repairing and maintaining plastic injection machines and ancillaries is essential.
• Proficiency in pneumatics, hydraulics and electronics is essential.
• Must have knowledge on seals, pumps and bearings.
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot problems quickly and effectively is essential.
• Must have experience in spare parts management.
• Previous experience in preventative maintenance planning and execution is essential.
• Diagnosing and troubleshooting breakdowns quickly and effectively.
• Minimising idle time and handling preventative maintenance.
• Maintaining high quality standards at all times.
• Managing spare parts by ensuring that the correct spares are available at all times.
• Adhering to all safety, hygiene and housekeeping standards.
• Assisting with breakdowns and ensuring continuous improvements
Minimum requirements for this role:
• Grade 12 or N3 Certificate and trade Test Diploma as Millwright / Fitter or Electrician. (Olifantsfontein)
• Minimum of 5 years; experience operating some of the following injection moulding machines, namely Kraus Maffei, Engel, Haitian, Ferromatic Millacron, Toshiba etc.
• Must have operational maintenance injection moulding experience on some of the above.
• Millwright is preferred but the company will look at a mechanical / electrical technician.
• Extensive understanding of injection moulding processes and parameters to ensure correct processes.
• Experience with PLC’s, Variable Speed Drives (VSD’s) such as. KEB, KEBA.
• Experience with Robots namely Fanuc, ABB, Alfa, Sepro, Shini robots will be an advantage
• Knowledge of general production site safety standards, and of those specific to the machine.
• Must have good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Computer literacy is essential with sufficient knowledge of Windows applications.
