Job description
SANSA runs an internship program where unemployed graduates and graduates are offered the opportunity to gain hands-on work experience through mentoring, coaching and exposure to a research environment.
Unemployed graduates and graduates interested in research management; research support and administration may also request this opportunity.
Salaries will be paid to volunteers based on their qualifications ranging from approximately R4500 for the NQF Level 6 National Diploma to R7700 for the NQF Level 10 Ph.D.
Responsibility:
Assist with school science support programs and science dissemination activities
Contribute to the development of scientific teaching material
Organize and facilitate science and technology awareness events
Travel for outreach work
Minimum requirements:
Between 18 and 35 years of age at the time of submitting the application;
Possess a National Diploma qualification completed at least in one of the fields of study mentioned below
Be a South African citizen or South African permanent resident (with a valid South African ID).
Fields of study:
Diploma / Degree in the following fields:
Mathematical Sciences
Informatics
Scientific education
Physics
Maths
Space sciences
NB. Volunteers will be based at the SANSA Science Center in Hermanus. This is a one-year contract (1st December 2021 – 30th November 2022)
