Duration – 6 month contract
ECSECC seeks to hire a suitably qualified research field worker. The research field worker should manage the data collection and report writing processes as guided by the project officer – stakeholder engagement and liaison.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS / EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCES
• Degree preferably in Economics or Labor Relations, Industrial Sociology or
Development studies
• Knowledge of the investigation processes
• Knowledge of the administration of research instruments
• Knowledge of the ethical standards of research.
• Proficiency in the use of MS Excel, MS Word and MS Power point
• To fully develop in the position, the candidate must demonstrate proficiency in key behavioral skills:
o Communication – Communicate and explain clearly, professionally and concisely, both verbally and in writing; keeps team members informed. Communication in isiXhosa and writing in English.
o Self-Management: You can switch between different tasks according to business needs, tackling changing priorities and keeping others informed about potential problems. He is confident to work independently but he is also a team player. Proactive in making decisions.
o Work with others: Maintain open and honest relationships with colleagues and agencies, building trust and confidence, responding proactively to requests and ensuring that others respond to their own requests. You must be able to foster good relationships with the agencies, but still be able to negotiate discounts as appropriate.
o Travel: Willing to travel throughout the Eastern Cape through the data collection process, in accordance with Covid-19 restrictions.
EXPERIENCE
• Practical experience in research projects (minimum 3 months) Scope of the stakeholder network
• Interact with stakeholders through the data collection process.
