The South African Nursing Council (SANC) is the body charged with establishing and maintaining standards for nursing education and practice in the Republic of South Africa. It is an autonomous, financially independent statutory body, initially established by the Nursing Law of 1944 (Law No. 45 of 1944), and currently operates under the Nursing Law of 2005 (Law No. 33 of 2005). The SANC currently has the following vacancies, candidates who meet the specified requirements are invited to apply.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Grade 12
Diploma / National Diploma in Informatics / Computer Science / Computer Engineering / Computer Systems and / or equivalent degree
3 years of experience in the IT support / service desk environment
ADDED ADVANTAGE REQUIREMENT:
ITIL basic certificate
CompTIA A + / N + / MCSA / MCSE, SDI: Service Desk Analyst
Information security rating
COBIT 5 Foundation
A minimum of 1 year of customer service experience.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
Build strong relationships with end users and interact with them efficiently and professionally to add value to the business.
Keep track of all end-user complaints and make sure they are addressed and resolved or escalated.
Continuously keep end users updated on the status of their recorded incident (verbal or written communication)
Initiate projects that can improve the end user experience and contribute to the efficient operation of the ICT service.
Conduct basic end-user training.
Maintain complete records of commitments with third parties / suppliers 100% of the time
Provide daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly statistics of all logged calls and service desk team performance (as required)
Be a central point of contact and keep a record of all incoming and outgoing equipment to and from SANC-ICT
Maintain an up-to-date record of all assets related to SANC ICT
Record keeping: network of complex computer problems and documents and their solutions for future reference
Ensure compliance with SANC’s ICT policies and standard operating procedures (SOP)
Analyze and diagnose incidents, escalate incidents that require high-level support in a timely and correct manner.
Follow up with support personnel (infrastructure, support and applications teams) to ensure that all active incidents are updated to the SLA
Support front-line end user, extract precise details on first attempt to log a call with correct details
Classification and categorization of calls correctly on the first try
Make sure calls are properly logged, assigned and escalated to the correct supervisor or support team member
Contribute (develop, review and contribute) to the development of policies and standard operating procedures within the area of ​​responsibility.
Security management: adhere to all SANC and security measures and report any violation to the corresponding authority to the ICT management.
Make sure all logged calls are answered, resolved and closed within the Service Level Agreement (SLA)
Perform ad hoc tasks delegated by the line manager / supervisor.

The SANC will conduct background checks (for example, employment verification and reference checks as outlined in the CV, as well as with respect to criminal history, citizenship, financial records, qualifications, driver’s license, and active professional membership, where applicable) . South African citizens will be given preference. The successful candidate will be appointed on a 12-month probationary period and will be permanently employed if all performance requirements are met during the probationary period. Candidates can be subjected to practical tests and a competency-based assessment, determined by the SANC.
