The main purpose of the position.
We are currently looking for an intern in Cape Town, South Africa, to be part of our global team and to work together towards our vision: to improve our future. As an intern in floating solar photovoltaic (hydropower), the primary responsibility is to identify and select potential locations for the development of floating solar photovoltaic (FPV). This includes selecting countries for water bodies and collecting data to facilitate the assessment and ranking of potential opportunities.
Main Responsibilities:
Browse countries of interest and identify potential FPV sites
Collect site-specific data on each of these water bodies for evaluation.
Evaluate, based on predefined criteria, potential locations.
Range locations for further development
Qualifications and competencies:
Education: in higher education, with 1-2 years remaining
Degree in completion: Electrical Engineering / Mechanical Engineering / Civil Engineering
Experience: within renewable energies (particularly PV / FPV) it is a benefit
Shows technical knowledge and interest in renewable energy.
Have knowledge of Google Earth or similar GIS mapping programs. This is an advantage, but not a requirement.
You are aware of PowerBI. This is an advantage, but not a requirement.
Microsoft office expert
Able to use Powerpoint and write reports
Easy to use and can work independently
Learns fast
Critical interfaces:
Business development: captures information already collected for a specific country
Energy production: capture any knowledge or information from the country to facilitate assessments
Solutions: understand the constructability requirements and the information gathered in FPV
