REQUIREMENTS: Grade 10 or equivalent. Valid PSIRA registration (and new certificate) / Minimum C-Grade. Training: Security training registered with PSIRA (Training Center). Training aligned with SASSETA / Unit Standards: Demonstrate knowledge of the Firearms Control Law of 2000, (Law No. 60 of 2000) – (117705) NQF Level 3 (Minimum). Certificate: Basic principles of access and exit control. The candidate must be prepared to undergo a security check within one month of taking office and confirmation of appointment will be subject to positive security clearance. Minimum of 3 (continuous) years and practical work experience in the safety and security industry; 2 years should have been in a corporate security environment.
DUTIES: Perform physical egress and access control tasks in all buildings managed by the department (even at events). Perform legal duties aimed at safeguarding departmental assets, information and human capital through the use of various technologies and security techniques. Undertake proactive security and patrol activities aimed at early identification of a potential security breach / hazard.
