SOCIAL WORKER VACANCY
Child Welfare Durban and District is an established non-governmental organization dedicated to the care of children and families. We seek to appoint a duly qualified Social Worker for FULL TIME EMPLOYMENT.
To be considered, applicants must have:
Degree in social work.
Minimum experience of 2-3 years in the field of child protection.
Commitment to transformation.
Knowledge of child protection services.
Knowledge of the legislation on child protection (Children’s Law)
Driver’s license not endorsed
Registration with SACSSP
No criminal record
Good computer skills
The applicant is expected to meet, among others, the following requirements:
Interview clients individually, in families, or in groups, assessing their situations, abilities, and problems, to determine what services are required to meet their needs.
Counsel parents with parenting issues, interview child and family to determine if further action is required.
Develop and review service plans in consultation with clients and carry out follow-ups evaluating the quantity and quality of the services provided.
Evaluate and plan intervention processes for children and youth in consultation with colleagues, family, and / or relevant departments.
In consultation with managers, ensure that interventions and programs for children and youth are planned, implemented, and reviewed in accordance with relevant legislation, regulations, policies, and codes of ethics / practice.
Consistently upholds the rights and dignity of the individual child or youth.
Assist in the preparation of budget estimates for specific projects, programs and / or services and ensure that all expenses are properly authorized by the Manager and the Senior Manager is appropriate
