Ubuhlebezwe Municipality invites unemployed graduates to apply for Internship / Apprenticeship Program 2021.
Deadline: July 16, 2021 no later than 4:00 p.m.
Location: Ixopo, KwaZulu-Natal
Stipend: R5 000.00 per month
REQUIREMENTS
Grade 12 certificate
BCom Title / National Diploma with a specialization in Accounting / Auditing, or a relevant 3-year tertiary qualification
Implementation of the GRAP certificate in the key performance area
Financial and performance reports
Expense and income management
Supply chain management
Asset Management Implementation of the Municipal Finance Management Law INTERNAL OF MUNICIPAL FINANCE MANAGEMENT (2-YEAR CONTRACT)
Salary scale: R100,000.00 per year (all inclusive) Municipal benefits (pension, medical assistance, etc.) will not apply and applicants must make their own arrangements in this regard.
This position requires dedicated and highly motivated individuals who have earned a 3-year tertiary degree to participate in an Internship Program that seeks to train recent graduates for a career in Local Government Finance. This Internship is an initiative of the National Treasury; with the aim of helping to create sufficient strategic management capacity at the local government level. A training program is currently under development that will expose selected applicants to all facets of local government financial services. It should be noted that at the end of the period of the internship contract, the Municipality is not obliged to extend the period of the contract or to offer permanent employment.
REQUIREMENTS
Grade 12 certificate
BCom Title / National Diploma with a specialization in Accounting / Auditing, or a relevant 3-year tertiary qualification
Computer literacy
Good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills Willingness to learn while working under pressure
KEY PERFORMANCE AREA
Perform basic accounting functions.
Interpret legislation and financial policies.
Process the payment of the invoice from the capture and verification of the source documents.
Manage the interface between the department’s payroll and the accounting system.
Carry out budgetary controls on expenses and income.
Oversee expense management to reconcile the grant.
Be trained in all sections of the Budget and Treasury Office.
PUBLIC PARTICIPATION COURSE (18 Months Fixed Term Contract)
Salary scale: R5,000.00 per month No municipal benefits (pension, medical assistance, etc.) will apply and the applicant must make their own arrangements in this regard.

National Diploma in Public Management or Public Relations. Understanding of local government legislation on community participation in government affairs and Operation Sukumasakhe. Understanding of local community needs and service delivery imperatives.
Skills to take minutes and write reports.
Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
Computer literacy (MS Office). Planning and organization skills
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
Help oversee the functionality of the Ward Committee and coordinate the establishment and activities of the Ward Committee.
Help facilitate the Neighborhood Committee’s capacity building initiatives.
Help facilitate intergovernmental programs. Help facilitate community participation and mobilize community structures, sectors, and traditional authorities to participate in municipal programs.
Act as a link between the municipality and its neighborhoods and the neighborhood committee. Help in the implementation of the strategy and policies of Public Participation of the Municipality.
